Botox is a purified protein, botulinum toxin type A, approved by Health Canada. Injected in small doses, it relaxes the little muscles that crease your skin each time you frown, squint, or raise your eyebrows.

Before your appointment
- Skip alcohol, aspirin, and blood-thinning supplements for 24 to 48 hours. It cuts down on bruising.

After your appointment
- Stay upright for 4 hours and skip the gym for a day.
